Paris is indisputably a heaven on earth for all foodies out there. From croissant to foie-gras, to bread and cheese or from Michelin star restaurants to tiny surprising cafes, the options are endless. So here is a list of the top 10 best places I do love visiting when in Paris. Far from being Michelin starred options, these restaurants and cafes are favourite spots of mine and many locals.
Ober Mamma is one of the 6 jewels belonging to the Big Mamma group. Not only, it is nestled in one of the most vibrant areas in Paris but the restaurant is freaking vibrant by itself and full of surprises. You will love everything at Ober Mamma, from the cocktail menu, to the lovely setting, the authentic Italian menu and friendly service.
Jacques Genin is most probably the best tea room offering the best pastries in the world. As soon as you cross the door, it feels like you are entering a jewelry store rather than a “chocolaterie”. The entire area is neat and sophisticated. This is where you can find the best desserts, chocolates and caramels on earth. Take time to sit down and enjoy a Paris-Brest with hot chocolate. Also, do not miss out stopping by their boutique before you leave to buy some amazing fresh handmade caramels.

La Mascotte is an upscale brasserie in the beautiful area of Montmartre that offers delicious bistro cuisine and seafood specialties. You can’t go wrong with your order; however, I would recommend a seafood platters to share as a starter and an authentic bistro dish as a main.
La Chambre aux Oiseaux is a lovely tea room and brunch spot located nearby Canal Saint-Martin, the bobo – standing for bourgeois bohemian – area of Paris. You will fall in love with its welcoming ambiance and vintage decor. Brunching, lunching or just having a cup of coffee are all valid excuses for visiting this little cafe.
Café de Flore is a very touristy spot but it is far from being a tourist trap. It is the place where Hemmingway & Co. used to go to write their novels. Today, it is an iconic cafe where you can find a mix of locals, tourists and celebrities that love doing people watching or chilling at a table on the outdoor terrace. Whether you go for a “café crème”, a glass of wine or a quick snack, you will enjoy your time at Café de Flore.
Amateurs of plant filled decors, exotic ambiance and trendy night outs have a new home in Paris named Alcazar. This chic and stunning restaurant offers a contemporary French cuisine made of top quality ingredients. Portions are generous and food tastes amazingly good.
