If you are in the mood of a thin crust, wood fired and tasty pizza – similar to those from Napoli – then Pizzeria Verità is the place you need to check out if you are on a trip in Vermont.
Located at the heart of downtown Burlington, Pizzeria Verità is a modern rustic trattoria that opened in 2012. It serves authentic Neapolitan-style pizza in a lively and trendy atmosphere. The decor is simple, yet rustic. The ambiance is cosy and fun at the same time. There are different seating options; you can choose to seat at the bar area where you can watch the pizzaioli show or opt for a standard table.
The menu offers a few appetizers and salads but the star is the pizza! The restaurant is so pizza centric that they do even make gluten free pizzas. There is also an amazing craft beer menu that includes an interesting selection of locally crafted beers.
Pizzas are cooked in a wood fire oven, they are ready in 90 seconds and made of fresh ingredients. In fact, the majority of the toppings are sourced locally. But also, the fior di latte is freshly made in house.
We visited Pizzeria Verità on a Saturday night. We ordered one pizza quattro formaggi and one pizza sasiccia e funghi, which was made with fresh house made Vermont fennel sausage. Both of them were delicious. The dough was thin and light, with just enough char on the crust. The sausage was excellent and all the ingredients were fresh.
Overall, Pizzeria Verità is not your average pizza joint. It is an awesome place where you can get fantastic food, in a fun atmosphere while having a friendly service. I highly recommend you pay a visit if you happen to be in Burlington. It is so close from Montreal…
