Montreal Life Travel & Food

January Monthly Round-Up

January 2018 probably was the coldest month I have experienced during my entire life. With temperatures going from +3 degrees (such a luxury) to -30 degrees (help!), winter in Montreal has been rather naughty. Nevertheless, seeing the entire city all in white felt like being in a wonderful “snow-land”. In addition, if it is cold outdoor, that also means more cocooning indoor… more food, more movie watching, more relaxing times.

Despite the fact that I did not have much time on the blog this month, I still wrote a few articles, including some travel and food ones such as Top 10 Best Restaurants of 2017, Top 10 Best Travel Moments of 2017 and Top 10 Best Things to do in Shanghai. As always, these top 10 articles are very much appreciated by my blogger community, which I am very thankful of. There is more to come in February.

Life has been good and relaxing. After the end of year rush in December, January was the month to catch up with friends again. We celebrated one of our closest friend’s birthday by organizing a surprise birthday party. Our friend was so happy and it was such a beautiful party. Happy Birthday again Maelle 🙂

Foodie Treats

January was the month of great French Cuisine. We discovered two new amazing brunch places in Montreal – Le Passé Composé and H4C. Both eateries serve innovative French cuisine and their dishes are totally Instagram worthy.

But we also dined in one of the greatest Bring Your Own Wine restaurants in Montreal, called Restaurant La Prunelle. I totally fall in love with the cuisine and the ambiance of this restaurant. The best part of dining there is that you can bring your favourite bottles of wine while tasting high-end seasonal french fare and being pampered by a wonderful staff.

From a home made cooking point of view, January was the month where I got crazy with soups. In fact, I was making a different soup almost every 3-4 days. From roasted tomato & pepper soup, to pumpkin, apple & carrot soup, I think I got endless ideas based on the veggies I had on hand.

So here were my stories from January 2018. There will be even more great adventures coming with February round-up and I already can’t wait to tell you more about them.

  • Your food pictures made me so hungry!!! It’s been so cold in Winnipeg (where I live) too. Hopefully February is going to be warmer. I’d be sure to check out that post when it comes out. 🙂

    • Thank You Sophie for your kind note. I’m so glad to read you came across my blog and I am looking forward to hearing more from you 😊
