If you love seafood and sunset watching, this is probably your destination. Menega Cafe is located right on Jimbaran bay and it offers a busy romantic setting and fresh grilled seafood.
All you need to do at Menega Cafe is to point out at the aquarium to select the creature you want or just opt for an already made to order menu. It offers economic, simple and fresh food.
I visited Menega Cafe with the primary objective to watch the sunset while having some grilled seafood. Unfortunately, I wasn’t lucky that night as it started raining heavily as soon as I entered the restaurant. And it just kept on raining throughout the entire evening, which meant no sunset. Nevertheless, I decided to stay for the fresh seafood.
Despite the rain, the restaurant was very busy and extremely noisy. I believe that the outdoor setting is much more romantic.
I ordered a set menu for one person a half portion of a red snapper, 3 shells, 2 jumbo shrimps and some fried calamari. This came together with stir fried kangkung which is a local spinach and a big basket of steamed rice. At the end of my meal, I was also offered some fresh watermelon and melon. The food was simple but good and fulfilling.
Overall, if you are looking for a simple dinner which still offers a nice and busy atmosphere, you may enjoy going to Menega Cafe.
