Brunch at Penny Cluse Cafe, Burlington

Penny Cluse is a lovely place you don’t want to miss for breakfast when in downtown Burlington.  This fast-paced cafe is very popular among locals for its delicious and plentiful menu!

Penny Cluse is a charming and casual cafe with a simple decor. The interior is classic, yet hip at the same time. The walls display artworks made by local artists. The space is open and inviting, making it a very bustling place during weekends. The reason to it? The food!

In fact, Penny Cluse offers a wide selection of breakfast and lunch plates all day, including meat, vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. From buttermilk pancakes, to granola, burritos, egg-based dishes, fish or egg tacos, the menu has something for everyone.

We visited on a Sunday for brunch. My boyfriend ordered the grilled cheese which was very cheesy and yummy. I ordered the maple cornbread french toast, which came with a rhubarb compote, honeyed ricotta and Vermont maple syrup. The toasts were delicious, and had a delicate corn taste.

The cafe has a no reservations policy and you may encounter heavy crowds during rush hour. However, it is totally worth it to queue to get a delicious and power breakfast.
